Speaking Stories

CEAPers: Malka, Daniela and Emily Objective: To open up verbal space and range... get comfortable telling our stories, verbalizing experiences and being active listeners for others. Materials: voice recorder, journals, pencils, 6 objects, Outline: Give them option to record what they have written in their journal from past week. Check-in (starting sitting on the ground): sound or words- where are finding yourself and mirroring it warm-up (moving into chairs around in circle): talking and listening, repeating 30 seconds- descriptions 1 minute- directions/instructions on how to use this object (infomercial) 2 minutes- story 1) from the perspective of the object, if this object could talk what would it say? OR 2) a story about something that happened to this object prompt or theme: write (in journal) about a memory you have... something you're proud of, something that happened to someone you know, something that sticks in your mind about being a kid (reminding them to keep it appropriate and safe for the group to hear) We will take 20 minutes for this part.
